Mr Khan started his career in Surgery in 1986 and has worked in plastic surgery since 1994. He is an NHS Consultant in hand and plastic surgery and he appears on the specialist register of the General Medical Council. He also holds a specialist FRCS (Plast) qualification. During his training, Mr Khan completed fellowships in aesthetic surgery, microsurgery and hand surgery.
During his training Mr Khan has completed fellowships in aesthetic, microsurgery and hand surgery. He has a busy private practice in the North West with private clinics being located in Bolton, Liverpool and Ormskirk.
His special clinical interests are: cosmetic surgery including rhinoplasty, facial surgery, breast surgery, liposuction, ear surgery, abdominoplasty (commonly known as a tummy tuck), surgery for massive weight loss, gynecomastia (male breast reduction), skin cancer, hand surgery, and plastic and reconstructive surgery. Mr Khan has published numerous papers in peer-reviewed international journals and has presented papers at national and international meetings.
Mr Khan takes a keen interest in training junior plastic surgeons and is currently Training Programme Director in Mersey area looking after the training of plastic surgery registrars. In the past he has been plastic surgery tutor to medical students from Liverpool University. He also holds the title of Honorary Senior Lecturer at Liverpool University.
